Skim ("we", "our", or "the app") is a recipe extraction app built by James Burrow. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
URLs you submit. When you paste a recipe URL, we send it to our server to extract the recipe content. We do not store these URLs or the extracted recipes on our servers after processing is complete.
Pinterest boards. If you use the Pinterest board browser, Skim accesses publicly available Pinterest board data to display pins. We do not store your Pinterest data.
Usage counts. We track how many extractions you have used (for enforcing free-tier limits) locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device.
Subscription data. If you subscribe to Skim Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) through RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never see your payment details.
Device identifiers. RevenueCat generates an anonymous app user ID to manage your subscription. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information.
The only server-side processing is converting a URL into structured recipe data. This happens in real time and is not stored. Subscription status is synced via RevenueCat to unlock Pro features.
Recipes you save are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your saved recipes. Our recipe extraction server does not retain any data after processing your request.
Skim is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Since we don't collect personal data, there is generally nothing to delete or export. You can clear all local app data by uninstalling the app. If you have questions, contact us at jamesburrow23@gmail.com.
